We in life celebrate celebrity more so than we do intellectuals and thinkers. I wonder why this is. In the past to be a celebrity you needed a considerable talent for something but now you just need to be loud outrageous and vulgar.
Meanwhile the thinkers and the intellectuals are seen as eccentric and boring. Is this a statement about how society is today. Is this why there have been few truly amazing individuals who can inspire us in life.
The political world in the UK is full of faceless nameless suits, if you go to the US, North Korea, or Russia then they are larger than life and more dangerous to life characters there.
Religion has no real inspiring figures appearing recently to speak on the hate greed and violent societies we live in.
It appears to me that the world needs a few more Gandhi’s a few more Martin Luther King’s. Where have the likes of Mother Theresa gone.
Instead we are left to be inspired by z rated reality celebs making fools of themselves and hogging all the air time. It seems people would rather see this than be inspired.
How can we change this? It is tough because the media is happy with this. It does not want people asking questions and being inspired, for they are more difficult to manipulate and control. We need more story tellers, more thinkers, more people who care about love and peace, rather than spitting out verbal rhetoric that is xenophobic and toxic.
We need more movements to turn up the pressure on these current failing systems, to challenge the establishments that city in their rich cosy ivory towers lauding life over us and watching us destroy each other as a part of the games that they create.
We need to start demanding better for the media, from politicians and our leaders. We need to demand greater safety, equality, compassion and peace. We need a society which is all inclusive and fair, that helps those that fall along the way, that celebrates spirituality, love and tolerance. We need societies that we feel apart of rather than apart from. We need to inspire those who are creative to create and to inspire people to the highest standards of ethical and moral living. We all need to reach up to achieve more with our lives whilst uniting as one so that we can uplift and transcend us all to a new paradigm, a new golden age.
I agree 100% and wish there were more people who feels this way.

I wonder the same thing. The world needs leaders. We could use FDR or Dr. MLK Jr. in the world right about now. Maybe someone will emerge from the shadows and become that sort of transcendent figure.
