Somewhere along the way I lost you
We just subtly drifted away,
Yet in among the sorrow and dismay
As I watched you fly and soar far away on a incandescent haze,
I saw your golden wings highlighted
By the radiance of the sun,
In full spectacular movement
I saw the essence of your freedom,
Like and angel gliding across the blue sky
I marvelled at your grace and style,
And wished you all the best from life
And I watched you fly away with a smile,
But choked I am with a tear trickling from my eye
At the prospect and the realisation,
That I was never going to see you again
But for a time you made living feel so worthwhile,
Thank you and blessings for all you gave to me
You shared a love that was beyond belief,
I am just so sad it faded away and flew away from me
On beautiful golden wings,
A declaration of your freedom,
It was the saddest and yet most amazing thing
I have ever seen and conflicted me,
It left me in a duality
Of sadness pain and joy as well as happiness,
You will always be all things to me
Fly away my love and be free,
And I hope that one day you’ll remember you and me
With fondest of memories.
