They’re killing each other on the block
Killing each other over postcodes and drugs,
And it’s crucial to get respect
Because if they don’t get it you’re dead,
Stabbed with a shank or shot by a gun
To them that’s how their business is done,
And they’re snared and started young
Because they’re to innocent and naive to know it’s wrong,
Caught up in the buzz of gang culture
And prayed on by older gang vultures,
Who get them to do their dirty deeds
Like running drugs and thieving,
Killing other gang members without feeling
Because they came from a rival postcode is,
And one day their parents will know
What it’s like to put their kid in the ground,
Killed during a fight with a knife or jumped
Or shit by a stray bullet or a drive by at night,
It is not such a glamorous life
Dying at the end of a knife,
Live by they’ll die by it
They’ll end up dead on a cold wet street,
And only their family will weep,
And the killing and gang warfare
Will just simply carry on,
They’ll be forgotten before they in their grave have gone rotten,
This is how life is at the bottom of
Because society fails those without,
Who feel they need to going gangs in a hope to get out
Dreaming of becoming a drug dealer,
And making a name for themselves
Egged on by rappers and their songs,
This has been going on for so long and it has to stop
Those who plead they’re not guilty,
Tend to be the most guilty of the whole fucking lot.
