Some people try to offer up solutions
Others can only criticize,
Critics are part of the problem
If alternative solutions they do not provide,
No solution is ever perfect
But it’s better than no solutions at all,
Criticism is a negative and pointless
Where solutions are positive and spark and provoke deep thinking in us all,
To try and improve that solution
To move it on and to enhance what is done,
But critics never off up solutions
Because of creative thought processes, they have none.
A society that never criticizes anything is either a dictatorship or is dead.
Critics are vital for finding the problems, even the minor ones that could always evolve into major ones.
If a society doesn’t know what the problem is, or if they don’t even know they have a problem, then they will never have a solution.
Critics are the eye openers. Kill them and you have killed yourselves.

I agree where the critique is constructive but when it’s not it serves only to distract people from heading in the right direction. Many dictatorships have used criticism and censorship to oppress truth or new and better ideas. I don’t suggest you can’t do this, I am simply saying it should always be constructive. Critics can close the mind and the eyes to shut down potentially good solutions, just because the idea wasn’t theirs. Critics are good at that. Better to be a creative problem solver who can identify where problems arise and offer up awareness and ideas on how to tackle them. Critics never do that either. That’s my opinion. I respect yours and I appreciate the time you have taken to read and comment on my post my friend 🙏 Faux

No doubt constructive critique would always be preferred. Unfortunately as you said it isn’t always the case, and malevolent critique can hinder the good work. One thing I believe we can agree upon is that any critique, of any kind, is – or at least should be – a clear sign that something is wrong in that, or a related, department. We should all grow clever enough to assess whether it’s a valid problem or a trick to drive us away from the real problems. It is indeed very complicated.
Society should work as a whole despite the many layers that make it. One may spot an issue, another one raises the alarm, another one analyzes it an assesses its level of threat, another one thinks of ways of fixing it, and yet another one actually proceeds to fix it. Some steps can be skipped altogether when the person is qualified enough for more than one task but that may not always be the case and should not be expected by default. Criticism is one layer – one of the primary ones – but beyond that anyone else can take over if they feel qualified (and brave) enough. 🙂
Thank you for opening the path to thinking. Namaste. 🙏
