Generation after generation
They still keep marching off to war,
Generation after generation
They die for a dubious cause,
One person’s power anothers greed
One defines another as an enemy,
And one by one the marching feet
Succumb to the propaganda machine,
And offer their lives for God, King or country
Like good obedient sheep like mercenaries,
Off to kill someone you don’t know
Killing people you’d never ordinarily meet,
Generation after generation
It’s always been the same way,
Generation after generation
When will mankind finally evolve and change.
