The murky underbelly
is darker than you think
it reeks of age old canker
hear the floorboards groan and creak
as feet shuffle along their way
down corridors of old
the morals and ethics here that have all been sold.
Whispers in the shadows
deals done out of sight
these people work in darkness
too afraid of the light.
These people wield the power
these people are of wealth
hiding away there secrets
these people are masters of stealth.
Who are these people you may ask
I will be honest and true
they are the people we elect
and were voted for by you
they are representing the establishment,
dig a little you will find sleaze
this has always been the case my friend
it is traditionally,
known that power does corrupt
of that I am quite sure
this murky underbelly goes back to time of yore.
Maybe Guy Fawkes had it right
when he tried to blow this up
a parliament based on degradation money greed and ultimately so corrupt.
