Cosmic traders

Frosted snow on mountain rocks,

Snow covered landscape,

On a planet in the cosmos,

Sound of vibration from underground

The only noise , the only sound.

Underneath the snow covered crust,

Machines are working,

Producing minerals and unearthing

Precious gems and sought after resources,

Conveyed along hidden underground

River courses,

To loading bays where ships are waiting,

For the riches to be ladened,

And transported round the galaxy

To suit the taste of a rich man’s fancy.

Loaders garbed in heavy coats,

Heavy fur boots

And masked faces,

Covered with hoods,

Protective glasses to cover the eyes,

Not sure if they are humans

That I spy,

But these are beings

Raised to handle these tough times.

Part of a galactic trade,

Sourcing other planets,

In order to aid the plight of the universal milieu,

Trading raw materials for food,

But careful not to strip planets bare,

Humans could learn a lesson there.

Beings from assorted races,

Dealing in assorted fare,

Will come together and trade somewhere.

This place I’d like to find to experience life,

Among a cosmic combined

Populous of alien races,

Who travel from vastly different places.

This dream of finding something akin to this outside the limits of our mind,

Outside our limits of space and time,

Thriving world’s unknown by humans

Science fiction of our minds,

But reality in another space and time.
