Another Monday morning
Readying for work,
Not quite light yet
Put on my trousers, tie and shirt.
Going to give them ten hours
Of my precious life,
Same old daily routine
More pressure and more strife,
Just to earn enough to cover
All of the bills,
Yet it’s getting harder just to do that
And I have had my fill,
And I want more.
More than this from life,
And though I struggle and I fight,
With these bonds of which I am tied
I just want more,
I really need more to fill my soul.
Another Monday morning
Same old drudge,
Just getting on with it
There is not much,
Else that I can hope for
But I keep my head high,
Hoping that maybe one day
I can achieve a better life,
Because I want more,
Is that too much to ask
I just want more,
I really need more to fill my soul
Before this life goes.
