Deep they delved

Deep they delved

Down in the mine,

In the darkness

Lost in time,

Hard they worked

And loud they sang,

As they delved deeper again.

Far to deep they mined

The dark,

Far to deep and way to far,

Unveiling things best left

In peace and rest,

For there are things

unknown to men,

Things that we call demons.

And as they delved

In search of greed,

One by one they began

To bleed

Until in the end,

Down the dark mine,

There were no longer

Sight or sound of men.
