Christmas time

Among the shopping hoardes

In the shopping mall,

People buying Christmas joy

The materialistic dream.

Stressed and ticking off their lists

Trying to fulfill what others wish,

But the spirit of Christmas is lost

Among the credit cards.

Yet there is still a ray of hope,

For around this time of year,

Still inspires goodwill and kindness,

As happy refrains come to my ears,

And a glimpse of better times

That we could share.

Take away the material,

And keep the goodwill and the kindness,

I wish that it could be like Christmas

All of the year.
