Love can build us up
Yet it can also let us down,
But that’s not due to love
That’s a notion that’s not sound,
It’s just the decisions we make
Or what other people do,
Then we attach it to love
It’s uncomfortable truth,
A dereliction of responsibility
Love is always constant in me and you,
We need to own up and be honest
We use love like it’s a tool.
