Fossil fuels need to be left in the ground

The alternative renewable fuels are safer and sound,

We’re running out of time and who rule don’t give a shit

Tar and oil protection and working down coal pits,

Is all our governments go to to get rich,

Greedy Mother Earth fuckers cutting down rainforests

Turning the land over to rearing cattle,

Burning off gases in fire flares in Nigeria

Polluting all our seas treating marine life like it’s inferior,

And none of our governments or businesses do enough

They put profit above all else that’s clear and out of touch,

When you see the rows of plastic bottles in your supermarkets

When they still wrap food in plastic you know Sustainability is not their targets,

It’s all about the money and they’re gambling with our children’s future

Then I can’t understand when you look at your son or daughter,

Without getting mad enough to demand real change

I observe this and find it strange,

Is it because we’ve all become addicted to greed and materialistic needs,

I will wonder if you feel the same under the heat of fifty degrees

And all your progeny will struggle so hard just to breathe.
