We’re told to stop being poor
You need to work and to earn more,
What a concept I never thought of that
Failing that I beg for coins with my hat,
The government always blames the people
Our poverty is simply not their fault,
Their policies but they won’t stand to account
So I reject their system, they can leave me out,
I can do better for myself without doubt
I don’t need the government I need to learn to cut them out,
And to be my own authority, this is what I shout
Along with slogans like burn the system down.
