Mr Walrus rocked up on the beach today

People flocked to see him and said ‘hey’,

The walrus with his tusks and his moustache

Looked at them and seemed to be glad at last,

Exhausted from his long journey he was a message

About what is actually wrong with our planet,

His habitat was disappearing really fast

And the time was slipping by and the chance may pass,

To turn things around and halt climate change

Putting creatures like Mr. Walrus at risk each day,

So much less food and severely lacking space

He and his colony will soon fade away,

Extinction in the future is the way for them

But after that it will be the same for humans,

In his eyes I saw the plea and understood why he was here

He was making a statement but he had no voice

He was trying to send a message with no other choice,

He wanted people to see what they would lose

And his presence here was the absolute truth,

And we need to see this as a sign and finally choose

That it is time to decide just what mankind is going to do.
