Grounded in nature

We as beings fail to understand

Our place in the world, gaia, nature,

As we put our selves above it

Superior to all.

Yet it’s that misunderstanding

In the role of human experience,

That sees us coming back again

Over and over to repeat it.

The lessons are there for us to learn,

On how we should fit in

To nature like a cog or link,

As part of nature

Not a part from it.

Our basic ignore once of this

And our arrogance to boot,

Holds us back from transcending

This existential life,

Which is not grounded at all,

For we are fooled by the illusions

Preprogrammed from our birth,

And so we lose sight of our own self,

And of our own self worth.

Our importance as part of nature

Is forgotten in insatiable desire,

That is why as human beings

We are always mired

In our own groundless distractions,

In our self inflicted pain

As we continue an existence of forever suffering.
