Cold hearted (sweet dreams)

I slice my chest open

With a sharpened blade

Blood trickling

Blood flowing

As I pull the skin wide open.

Then with ribbon spreaders

I reach in amidst the flow of crimson red blood

And crack open my ribs.

The cracking of bones

As loud as my screams in my ears.

I then reach in cut the arteries

And tear out my heart.

It pulses in rhythm

Spluttering it’s final beats

I offer it to you on a silver plated

For you adorn above your bed with all the others.

You shake your head in horrified refusal

But I can see in your eyes the glint of pleasure.

Another heart ripped out for her

Another trophy

Another life destroyed.

I drop to my knees

Pale and eviscerated.

I offer a final smile

Then I die.

My drained heart now adorns a place above her head

Above her bed

As she smiles a cold heartless smile

The sleeps.

Sweet dreams.
