The darkest night
May cause distress,
Leave us losing
Our self belief,
In shadows we see
All our fears looming,
See our flaws begin to grow,
Threatening our stability
Increasing our fragility,
Causing doubts to undermine,
The sanity of our clouded mind,
That during darkness loses grip
And causes us to irrationally think,
That all the walls are closing in
And our self love now counts for nothing.
Come the daybreak and a new dawn
Hope will spring eternal again
But until that time when the sun will rise
We suffer in the dark of night,
Wrestling our demons in a constant fight,
To keep it together but feeling frail
And ensure we don’t go of the rails.
