My life is not on display

Got your mortgage

Your nice car,

Living in the suburbs

Life is good,

Fitting in with others

Saying the right things

And fitting in.

Model of society

Mouthing the establishments line,

Well that’s not me

I am worth more that,

I won’t buy into the material crap,

Don’t need approval

From others around,

Don’t need to be speaking other words

Recreating their sounds,

Prefer to be unique

Live life my way,

Don’t need possessions on display,

To show my worth

And how well I have done,

Don’t feel the need to gloat

And show off to everyone.

Acting like I have got everything in life

Because I played it a by the line,

Nothing varied,

Taking no risks,

Believing everything I am told

Never questioning anything.

I stand up for the under dog

I exercise rebellion in my blog,

I make no apologies because that’s me

Take it or leave it

That’s just me.
