Never be cowed by those from above
who try to laud it over you,
don’t sit and ask for permission to live
you don’t need their permission at all,
don’t wait and hope out for a hand out
for that will never happen of that have no doubts,
because that’s not what the system is about.
It will keep you poor, keep you down on the floor,
keep you coming back and begging for more,
they prefer you broke and destitute,
keeps you needing them but more astute,
break out from these controlling chains
break free and take a hold of the reigns,
steer your own course, choose your own destiny,
because people believe me you were born to be free.
