I drank from the elixir of truth

and saw the real world come shining through,

casting out the illusory,

replacing it with reality

and an awakening happened

and showed me the proof,

that this world in which we live

is in a total mess

and our humanity has vanished,

it’s lost it’s self respect.

Through fighting wars,

and it’s corrupting ways,

we live a life of free market trade,

ignorant of the fact that our dignity decays,

every time we sell our soul to

the materialist dream

and this over and above our humanity

and as the rich get richer

and the poor just die

and I hear the voices of women and their babies cry,

in a bombed out street,

or living in a tent,

never knowing when this suffering will end.

I drank from the elixir of truth

and saw the real world come shining through,

casting out the illusory,

replacing it with reality

and an awakening happened

and showed me the proof,

that many human beings do as they do,

to enhance their power,

to enhance their greed

and these kind of people

care not one jot for you or for me

and so we all need this elixir to see reality,

it’s our only hope to set ourselves free,

in a world of rack and ruin

we need to control what we are doing

and the elixir of truth

we need to start brewing

to awaken all humanity

and to change our lives

and ensure we all fight to protect our rights.
