Of life and times
We need money
just to survive
But money is the root
Of material things
That make us crave
For the finest things.
A life of self supporting
Is a difficult one
When your not blessed
With the means of funds
Abdul your forced to
Scrimp and scrape everyday,
Just so the bills
Can be paid.
So money can be despised
But still be required
Or chances are
Your life will become expired
There seems no way
Of escaping it
So we have to try controlling it
But ultimately
It controls us
No matter how we try
It has us trussed up
Caught in chains
To difficult to break
As those famous words stated
‘The peasants are hungry ma’am’
They said,
‘So let them eat cake’.
