We hide behind masks
That we create,
To frightened to show
Our true face,
Don’t want others
To see the true us,
To paranoid
And unable to trust.
So we hide behind masks
And let nobody see,
The authentic
And age old beauty,
That we have developed
Over a million lifetimes,
Still hiding and waiting
Until the right time.
For a time we feel safe,
For a time we feel secure,
To take of the masks
And let our beauty
As spirits and humans endure
And carry us all,
To a new place of trust,
A place of compassion,
And a world rooted in love.
