Lucky to live the life we live

Reaping so many benefits

But that is not true for everyone,

So understand the reverence

Of gratitude and appreciation,

Understand there are those 

Living a life of starvation

And living homeless or suffering,

For all sorts of problems

That we cannot even start to imagine.

Understand that life deals us hands

That we are meant to live well

And learn to command,

So with this truth within our grasp 

Know that a the very start

Of living awakened in a conscious state,

The importance of living in a benevolent way,

Living compassion,

Living within peace,

Living in love

It’s within our reach,

Understand these are lessons

For the mighty to care for the meek,

For the strong to help the weak

And create a world of equality, 

A world of enlightened beings is what I seek.
