I taste the food of creation

And indulge in a divine sensation

Of appreciating how it grows

From whence it started 

As the seed it was down

I taste it’s texture

Sense the earth

And how the fertile soil

Made worth 

The food that now sits on my plate

That I take care to appreciate

As I consume it’s goodness 

Savour it’s health

And everything it offers to self

I pay homage to nature

For allowing me this

For I understand that food is a gift

Of creation.
