She died in my arms

She said she loved me then she died

And I cried because I knew this to be a lie,

But in her final breathes,

I could not take away the rest

Of the final things she had left

But I knew she had another,

A very secret lover

But I was the only one here at her death

And so I held in my arms

And said I would ‘help until the time that you depart’

And then she died in my arms

But her love lives on my heart

For although her love was false,

I decided there was no point in recourse,

So I held in my arms

And I held in my heart

And that will never change,

Though it tore me apart,

She said she loved me then she died

And I cried because I knew this to be a lie,

So  on that day a part of me died as well.
