We hide behind so many scars,
We hide behind so many masks,
That we lose sight of our selves
And become desensitized to the pain,
We continue playing the illusory game
Where everything looks right
But you know that’s not the case,
Where you seek the limelight
But live within the confines of the dark
And shadowy places
That have been your past,
Hide behind your self deprication
And your sheer trepidation,
That to let go of all of this
Would leave you in deprivation
And so you remained manacled to a life
Full of pain and suffering.
Beholdent to a world that offers you nothing
But still you hide behind the scars,
And you hide behind the masks.
