Sears the flesh
And burns the skin
Ultra violet rays radiating
No respite from the heat
Parched and gasping no relief
Skin peeling
Rough raw red
Under the sun’s
Merciless insistence
Humanity has no resistance
To the fearsome flame
We only have ourselves to blame.
