Lights out

I feel the plight

The desperation,

Of those in need

Suffering because

Of others greed,

I feel their plight,

I see their fight,

As the bombs are dropped

More lights go out.

As the innocent die

A tear fills my eyes,

Victims of government

And media lies

And as these innocent die

And the lights go out,

I have no one single doubt

That we’ve got it all wrong,

Humanity has messed up,

We’re making mistakes,

Which we need to end.

But this will only happen

If we bring about a change

And this can only happen

If we stand up against,

These greedy governments

And media,

If we force them

By piling on the pressure,

To change direction,

To give love and peace a chance,

Through ending divisions

And promoting tolerance,

We need to learn to shine a light,

If we dream of a future

That can be bright,

No left wing, right wing,

We must learn yo coexist,

Accepting everybody’s

Religious and spiritual beliefs.

If we do this then there is hope,

No lights will go will go out,

Because of war, violence and hate

And no more tears will need to fill our eyes,

Nobody needs no longer cry,

Because their loved ones  have died,

Or disappeared in the night,

For the power the greed and for might.

No lights will go out

And we can feel proud,

Of our humanity in a way

We should not feel now,

And if we stand up,

Against negativity,

There is for us a reason to believe,

That we can build a better future.
