Ambling my way

I amble along in my own kind of way

making the best of a beautiful day,

with songs in my head and inspiration at play

I think I may just celebrate,

this life and the way that I live it my way,

on my terms and I search for those who feel the same,

I smile though times are hard, just to make ends meet,

at least I have got food on my table, so I can eat,

whereas there are many more people worse off than me.

So I just amble, though it is a gamble

may be I should be rushing like the other fools,

running around my neighborhood,

swimming against the tide and getting no where,

hearing them screaming ‘Life just aint fair’.

Who ever said it was?

who ever thought it was even?

who ever thought we would get our fair share?

Now I amble away as I must be leaving,

with music and poetry filling my brain,

I amble back on the 4 o’clock train,

another day done, i am not in a rush,

back to my family, back to the love.

Ambling or running fast,

what does it matter everything is in the past,

after the present moment is left behind,

my friends, this is where we should spend all of our time

in the present moment of mind.
