A life of luxury I’ve not known
Opportunities have always flown
And I’ve been left to struggle and strive
Simply trying just to get by
And though I would love to be cut a break
I keep on going each and every day
Guessing I am learning lessons from this
Eeking out an existence
Smiling through and acting diffident
To those who flaunt at me their affluence
Because it’s not just money and material things
That define the aspects of my being
And I am still and always will be grateful and appreciative for living.
