Escape

The wind assists the artic blast

Of winter cut me apart

My hope of warm days I keep in mind

Each day the morning starts

I am off to work and I am relieved to say

At least the rain today has been kept at bay

Bad enough being this cold

Without being drenched through too

Bad enough the the artic chill freezes my bones

And I imagine warmer times to come

But that seems a world away right now

I will just wrap up go about my day

Warn my crust come home and lay my head upon my pillow

When it feels warm and safe

And I dream the night away and escape

The cold, the wind and the mundane.
