Loss of the child inside

As we grow

We leave behind

The concepts of

Living with

Innocence and laughter.

The pure pleasure

Of just existing

Loving, playing

Having fun

Seems to become distant

As the role of being

All grown up takes

The delight of living away

And we accept

And put up with

A life more dark and grey

A life so much more mundane.

But it doesn’t have to be this way

We should learn to regain

The fun and start playing again

Learn to hear the music

And dance in the rain

If people look at us strangely

And think we’ve lost our minds

Tell them that it’s them that’s crazy

Living in the grey

As we laugh the days away.
