Shhh, can you hear the footsteps
Can you feel the fear
As the hair stands up on the back of your neck.
Shhh can you feel yourself tremble
Can you feel the cold chill
As you see movements in the shadow
How does it feel this trepidation
Instilled by others
It’s not actually real
But in fear you put your trust in others
In fear you surrender and submit your life
For others to control
Because you brought their lies
And now live a suspicious fearful life
One that is invariably discriminatory.
