If you got nothing good to say about somebody say nothing at all

Never truer words spoken

I never know why people are mean

Or say things about others that are maybe offensive or obscene

When it’s a better character trait to be nice or to keep your opinions to yourself

There’s nothing wrong in keeping your own counsel

Rather than running off your mouth instead.
