Blade runner

The replicants sought their creator

Hoping he could give them a little more time,

Humans never worried about how long they had

They want to be like God’s and Masters all the time,

The replicants understood and appreciated the miracle of life,

Cherished it and did so much in their short time,

Human beings take life for granted

And wasted large parts of their lives,

Replicants like Batty experienced so much,

‘I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.’

Humans used them like slaves and Batty said of this

‘Quite an experience to live in fear, isn’t it? That’s what it is to be a slave.’

Humans tracked them down with Blade Runners to kill them,

Out of fear that they may take over from them,

Realising replicants may start reproducing

Because of Tyrrell’s advancements he built in,

And the comment Gaff made to Deckard was,

‘Its too bad she wont live, but then again who does? …’

The replicants though machines discovered love,

This is something of which humans had lost touch of,

In the end it’s like a love story and yet a tragedy

Machines trying to live like human beings,

And the humans had lost their humanity,

And now they were the ones living like machines,

Batty said ‘I’ve done questionable things’

But no more than any human being,

‘Wake up, it’s time to die’

Blade Runner, the best movie of all time.

  1. I love Blade Runner, it set the bar high, all other sci-fi films can only copy it, it was an original.
