September morning

I step outside on this September morning

It’s dark stars sparkle and the moon is bright,

The day is still far from dawning

This is the 5am shift delight,

Another day starts before the daylight

Chill in the air and few everywhere,

Reminding autumn is almost here,

Another summer has been and gone

Like always it never seemed to last that long,

Time is flying by, it goes on and on

But it’s do picturesque on this September morn,

I think I will take time to welcome in the new dawn,

Illuminated pink and reds glowing on the horizon,

And I dream of when my shift is over and I will be home soon.

  1. Perfectly expressed, today and yesterday it’s suddenly fall-like here as well. Lovely poem 🧡🍁🌅

      1. Home for me now is west coast Canada again. (Just moved back. :)) Whereabouts are you? Yes, always a bit sad to see summer come to an end. But fall is beautiful here usually, so might be nice. :)) 🌻🍂🍂💛
