Depressional state

Everyone’s suffering from depression these days

Is it something society does to our brains,

Feeding us insecurity, fear and self hate

Social media fucks people up in so many different ways,

Teaching us to question our bodies our sex and our worth

All life seems to offer these days is pain loss and hurt,

They give you drugs but the drugs don’t work,

The underlying source you see is life, love and work,

We’re made to feel that we’re not good enough and to know our place

People are discriminated on by colour and race,

We are made to feel immortal sin and guilt by different faiths,

If we try to save the environment but we’re told our thinking is misplaced,

We’re told to do things on their terms and submit to the state

But the state just exploits us and gives us life to waste,

Offers us mortgages and cars and debt to leave in testate

For when we die to show how our life was so great,

But we are forgotten, not remembered in the right way

We fail to leave a legacy worth a good story or a good tale,

They treat us like automatons controlled in everyway

And they use debt on us as a way to enslave,

No wonder so many are depressed by the way we live,

Not beautiful, not loved, by anyone else or ourselves,

And that is just not good enough for anybody’s mental health.
