Temerity

The temerity you showed me

Was a cover up for you impropriety,

I never would have held that against you

If you were honest, open and true,

And I would have always love you

But you treated my like fool,

The discrepancies in your stories told me I should worry

Why couldn’t you elucidate, just what you needed,

It something I would have heeded

So now I am here all alone

I am not the type to control and own,

Because of your temerity because of your lies

I could have let you be free and fly,

But you lied while looking me in the eye,

That is wrong and over time

It would have eaten away at me,

I just wanted you to be honest and open you see.
