I am a believer

There’s enough for all our needs

But not for everyone’s greed,

Greed is the real disease

On which so many happily feed,

It’s corrupted government and all aspects of life

The mantra now is greed is good and right,

And in the material world we’ve lost sight

That it is diminishing the spiritual light,

Casting darkness and destruction on all

I have always harkened to God’s call,

Love and care for all creatures great and small

You don’t create unity by building walls,

You don’t create equality by demonising the poor

You don’t create love,

By reciting hateful stuff,

You can’t by your way into to heaven

Because it doesn’t count for much,

I don’t want to rid the world of religion

That had never been part of my mission,

But seeing how mankind exploits and uses the words of God

To twist it to their own ends that destroys love,

Is just too much

God’s blessed with an omniscient touch,

Which means he’s everywhere spreading much,

But he has always had time for you

You don’t need spires and you don’t need pews,

We just need to share and love s whole lot more

And stop preaching hate, greed, division and war,

That why I choose a spiritual course

That transcends a churches four walls.
