But then I know, I know nothing

I am just a simple soul who knows nothing at all

Except being kind and knowing that we are all equal,

Maybe not in life but in birth and in death

Were born with nothing and leave with probably less,

The potential we have when we are born

Counteract the memories we leave with when we are no more,

So maybe making the most of this life for sure

Is the wisest thing and our most important chore,

To be caring and grateful and appreciate each moment we live

Don’t dwell in the past or gamble of the future,

For in this present moment life is the tutor,

And it will teach anyone, who pays attention

And keeps it all in and understands the wisdom of retention,

It’s not how you’re born you see or how you die

It’s all about how you live your life,

Remembered by others for being good

And leaving a legacy and story in your wake,

That will leave people in no doubt make no mistake,

That you gave of yourself, selfless and kind

Never perfect but that is of no mind,

You did what you thought was always right

You lit up the darkness with your brilliant light,

But what do I know?

I know nothing at all

Except in the scheme of things we are so small,

But our legacy can be mighty and recognised by all

And you’ll go down as the person who always stood tall,

You don’t need to be rich, famous or successful

You just have to be the person others looked up too,

For resonating love, kindness and light

Transcending even the most peaceful night,

So be humble, be you, be love and be true,

And people will always remember and celebrate you,

Ain’t that the truth.
