There is a silent rage within me
As a reflection of our society,
Because I see how little it cares
For the likes of you and me,
It’s all based on lies and money
I see the destitute homeless on our streets,
And the poorest living out of food banks
They don’t want hand outs or charity,
What the really crave is equal opportunities
This is not a fair society,
Greed and materialism is it’s priority,
Old people forced liked cattle in to care homes
As the rest of the family don’t have the time,
Or ability to care for their loved ones
As the surrender all the worked for,
To pay for their home in their old age,
And often do many of them die alone
Meanwhile in our society,
Xenophobia and racism is running loose,
And not enough is done to stop it
As immigration is the hot topic,
And the media spreads fear about foreigners
They have become the purveyors of hate,
The promote nationalistic identity
As a proud and honourable trait,
But it couldn’t be further from the truth
As we try to gag the youth,
Who try to save our environment
Because of climate change,
Despite all the overriding proof,
Our society doesn’t care enough
It feels it has way to much to lose,
If it starts giving people what they need or want
They fear losing control over me and you,
But society has become s fucking joke
It’s become negative and toxic,
It’s s reflection of the media and a corrupt government,
It’s become nothing more than a festering wound,
Caused by the elite establishment
And unless we bring about a change soon,
It will bring about a atmosphere of discontent
And people filled with dissent and resentment,
That will end in a melt down
that will see it all becoming violent,
And it’ll the the innocent and poor that will pay.
