I can’t believe this year what has happened

I can’t comprehend the fear that has been instilled,

Playing on peoples ills without any reassurances

No positivity, no hope at all,

Just a fear fest free for all

Propagated by the media and government,

Delivered with messages and sentiments,

That they could not abide by themselves

We made sacrifices, they just didn’t

I got one to thing to say to this year, good riddance

And if we learnt much from this year

We learnt Trump withheld funding for Covid research

And as a result we were globally unprepared,

and if we learnt anything, we learnt not to mess with nature,

As bats in this pandemic were a big part of the picture,

But only because we destroy their environment

And we learnt many lessons, deep and intense,

That we are powerless once again in the face of nature

Next time the pandemic could end up being mankind ending,

But the good news is if we learn to clean up our act

Treat nature well and the same with regards their habitats,

Then we can grow and evolve happily,

But we must embrace environmental minds you see,

And learn better to see and read the signs more clearly

Rather than just drifting through it, ignorant and blindly.
