I met an old acquaintance last night on Christmas Eve
It’s name was alcohol and it was not kind to me,
It’s been s long time since I let it draw me in
I got to involved and too drunk which was not a good thing,
So today I’ve been hanging and feeling not so well
All because I got caught under alcohol’s spell,
I realise now why we went our separate ways
And trust, it’ll be another ten years at least,
Before our paths cross again.
