You asked me who I am
I asked who you thought I was,
You told me all you see
I told you that was not me,
I told her who I thought she was
She said, now that is not me either,
I said that we show get to know
More clearly one another,
And we’d only known each other for years
Yet through heartbreak, misery and tears,
We did not realise, we didn’t really know each other
And that what we perceived was lies,
And now we’re starting with a clean sheet
Learning about each other authentically,
We’ve taken off our masks
And shown each other our flaws at last,
Who knows if we’ll ever survive
For we are now uncovering each others hates and likes,
And it may drive a wedge between us
Or draw us closer, who can know,
But it’s a chance to find a new love we can grow,
With each other now the image we created of each other has now gone
There’s s chance to now gone beyond, the illusion,
And discover about each other the real true me and you.
Would say its great to discover each others real self. Lovely write.
