Night walking

It’s a quarter past going home time

I walk out into the neon night lights,

Walk over steamy grates on the walkways

I look up at the moon see it shining down on me,

I stare in wonder at the stars, as I always do,

Walking home in my shirt, tie and suit

I remember the beauty of you,

But that’s now long gone and past

In this city that during the day is so fast,

But now it’s quiet and it’s sleeping

Which is what I now also intend to do,

And hope that love returns back my way soon.
