I just keep on walking

I walk so many miles each day

I walk miles in these shoes,

Yet no matter how much I travel

I always seem to end up here,

No matter which path I am taking

It always ends up in a dead end,

Yet despite this I keep on going

For I really have no other choice

I prefer the expression of my words,

Than using someone else’s voice

I’d rather plan my life through my own choices,

And stand and fall on my own merit

Then at least when each day ends,

What I’ve achieved is to my own credit,

And that I find important to me

I need to make no bargains I need no make no pleas,

That why I know that I am free.
