Sleeping rough on the streets is a sign

Of a society that can be defined

As failing those most in need

Especially when around you see so much greed

We all know there’s enough to go around

So why do people sleep outside on the ground

It’s the same reason why people starve go hungry

To many people want more you see

At the expense of those who have little

I can honestly say it’s not acceptable

And those who govern who allow this

Are failing in their duty which is critical

To those who are suffering

Many from mental health issues

Many from different forms of addiction

Our societies come out of this truly

With little or no distinction

And so we should all think on

Do we all really care enough, it seems unlikely.
