Night of the demon

I heard voices coming from the bedroom of our new house

I heard the footsteps on the floor as something ran around,

I could sense the chill in the air as the temperature changed

I felt the spirit of something demonic and evil,

I walked up the stairs to see what could be happening

And I saw nothing but darkness,

Then something at speed brushed passed me

It pushed me to one side, then I felt it above me,

I ducked, and dodged around the room as things flew everywhere

I ran for the door and slammed it shit from outside,

Sealing whatever was in there inside

I locked the old door with a key that was in the lock,

Breathing heavy I gasped and steadied my beating heart

That was pounding in my chest,

I looked at the stairs before me and made my way down them

Halfway down I heard banging on the door,

I stopped turned to see if the door would hold

Then walked back up to the top,

The big heavy door looked solid and I knew it would hold

I turned and there it was in front of me,

A tall thin wide eyed gnarled face with sharp jagged teeth

It grabbed my shoulders, it used it’s teeth to rip out my throat,

Then spun me around and threw me down the stairs and onto the hall floor

Shattering my back, smashing into pieces the back of my skull,

I stared up at this demon as it stared back down at me

‘you’re not welcome here, I am taking you to hell with me to feast upon’,

I spoke with a rasping growl, it came closer

And as it gripped my arms, I called out for a deity,

And there it appeared in all its Buddhist glory

With a sword in her had she severed the demons head,

She then rose me up and I floated in front of her

My broken body and ripped out throat now no longer causing pain,

The deity smiled at me and turned and moved forward

And walked into a void that opened, carrying the sword in one hand,

And the demons severed head in the other with she held by its straggly hair

I felt myself floating behind into the void as well,

Then everything changed and I was in a paradise setting I knew was Nirvana

I cried tears but they were tears of joy,

This was now my place of rest until my next reincarnation.
