We’ve been distracted for a while now
By Covid viruses running wild,
And due to this the real threat to us has gone unnoticed
As we were beginning to build up momentum,
The real threat to all of us is global warming
This is not a conspiracy theory but a real warning,
It’s not something contrived by governments to keep us all in line
Or for a change to make more money like they do many times,
This is an issue that’s real and getting worse
We need to work out our priorities and make this first,
Time is running out so you must learn to see
The very grave nature in acting passively,
If not for you then act for your children
Let’s create a new world that we could be building,
One that green and rooted in renewable energy
One that is kinder to our planet and to you and me,
A world without the great polluting disease
Where we clean up all the plastic in the sea,
Where there are no toxins in the ground affecting crop seeds
A time where it’s only clean air we will breathe,
So forget about this being a conspiracy theory
Face the truth this is our present reality,
And then focus on demanding and creating change
From our governments who don’t see things this way,
For they don’t care about the future but just getting richer each day
Make it clear to them we will vote no more this way,
For anybody not willing to save our ecology
We want a governments committed environmentally,
To producing a better future for us and our children
Let’s get this platform off the ground and start building,
More pressure through more actions and louder voices
And letting people know there are other better choices,
Then greedy powerful governments who put business over people
That exploit earth’s rescources just to sate their greed,
If we don’t it will end like the story of Soylent Green
To little space to live here and not enough to eat,
Where pollution had destroyed everything
It is time my friends to adopted the path of all that’s green.
