Divergence into the depths

Of systematic suffering,

Is the torment we endure

Due to the harbinger of doom,

That we seem to labour under

When life is not going well,

Dragging us downward

In a spiralling sinful hell,

Created within our own minds

When clear consciousness fails,

We see the very worse in ourselves

All that led is cries and wails,

And it seems beyond all reason

That we can’t find a way to prevail,

Yet light and hope are never

Quite that far away,

So be prudent and be alert

Before that ship sets sail,

And leaves you lost and forlorn

In your self created tormented jail.
